My Project
This project is to get materials I can use within the classroom to help my students learn social/emotional skills. I want them to know that although they might struggle in this area, we will work on growing in this area too, just like we work on our reading and our math skills.
Social/emotional skills are very important in first grade!
Sometimes we know what we want to say, but our emotions just get in the way. I want my students to know that we will be working on these skills throughout the year, and even adults struggle to know what to say sometimes!
These materials will give them something to do while they are calming down - it might be having a quiet time to color a feelings page in a coloring book, or just getting to sit with a stuffed axolotl to help them calm down. Thank you for supporting my students with this project!
