We are new special education teachers who teach kind, caring, curious, and hard-working students in grades K-5. Our students love times where they can have fun and bond as a classroom community.
We love that no matter what life throws at them, our students are resilient.
Teaching our students to work on their social skills all day, every day is enjoyable and you can see them make progress daily. We love their curiosity and love for play. Unfortunately this has been one of the toughest areas to teach during distance learning. A lot of students are struggling to log on and get the social emotional support they need. We want to give families all the support possible by giving our students social emotional tools at home that they can access without the internet.
My Project
All of these materials will help support our students with their self-regulation skills. We want them to be able to self-regulate and practice this important life skill at home. Their mental health matters. A lot of families don't have access to supplies and tools to help their children practice this skill at home. Help us support all members of our families!
Some these supplies will also go towards the students making their own sensory bottle, which not only helps with their direction following skills but helps calm them during times of upset.
