The adventure of lifelong learning is ignited as the students truly begin their careers as readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, and artists.
I have the amazing joy of getting to spend my days with a diverse group of students who are full of exuberance, unending love, and a curiosity for learning that pushes them to grow in extraordinary ways.
My school is comprised of numerous cultures and languages from around the globe. I have the lucky privilege of learning and growing with my students as they teach me about their different culture, overall life, and how to be full of that youth energy we all contained at one point in time.

My Project
All children deserve high quality literature in the classroom. Whether it be books about character- power of kindness (Stick and Stone), beauty of friendship (A Sick Day for Amos McGee), bravery (Too Shy for Show-and-Tell); developing social/emotional tools (I Can Handle It, My Mouth is a Volcano, Rude Cakes, You Get What You Get); learning about different kinds of people (Home, All Are Welcome); accepting your mistakes (The Book of Mistakes); learning the beauty of words (The Word Collector); feeling inspired (She Persisted: 13 American Women Who Changed the World, Rosie Reverie's Big Project Book for Bold Engineers), or lastly, books that capture the imagination and help children fall in love with reading (The Day the Crayons Quit, I Want My Hat Back, The All Saw a Cat).
