Social Emotional Learning Through Sports

My Project

For almost a decade, intramural sports have been missing from our school. Students struggle in academics and in social settings with no means to come to school, besides the normal "You have to". Children nowadays lack the social and emotional skills to face adversity, often reacting violently, unconscious of the consequences. With your donations, I will be able to implement an effective and compassionate outlet for our students to thrive and be welcomed in our school. Students can redirect their emotions through friendly team sports competitions, and building lasting caring relationships with their classmates and teachers. The resources I am requesting are nothing more than the necessities we need to build a basic but successful intramural program. These resources will not only greatly improve our program, but most importantly start the foundation for activities like intramural sports to be conducted for decades to come.

Our students NEED sports and other activity outlets to connect and learn to love each other when the classroom setting is not enough.

I plan to use these resources every year I teach at this school, utilizing my time to set up and conduct activities such as football, kickball, and soccer during and after school. Intramural sports brought me out of my cage in middle school, and I do not doubt that they will further cause our students to bloom, and be the best versions of themselves.
