My Project
Many students meet with me one-on-one to work on social skills and discuss tough issues. When working with kids, it is easier for them to learn and practice social skills through play and fun instead of sitting and talking about what is bothering them or what skills they need to improve on. I want to help make our discussions easier for kids by having fun social-emotional learning games.
My students can improve their social-emotional skills without realizing it by playing board games.
The use of games will help us practice skills such as cooperation, taking turns, respect, and sportsmanship. The games I chose focus on manners, anger management, conflict and other skills that my students need help with. It is easy for many of my students to tell me what they should do, but applying the skills can sometimes be difficult. I think these games will us practice in a safe space.
