This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Social-emotional learning is extremely important inside and outside of classrooms. Positive action lunch groups provide students with the necessary tools that they need to be able to go through the day, remain in class, cope with difficult situations, learn how to build relationships and connections in a healthy manner, learn how to think before acting and then self reflect, and so much more.

When these students come together, it is a safe space filled with positive team and trust building activities along with snacks and conversation.

Because we are a school district in financial hardship, all of the snacks and supplies that are bought, I pay for myself. I also oversee all of our homeless/displaced students who always come to me for snacks and help as well.

The students love coming to group. They truly look forward to it. The extra snacks, folders and notebooks would truly help offset some of the cost that I put forth all year. It’s all about building relationships . . . connection, capability, confidence, and compassion. Your help would be a true blessing in helping these incredible scholars!
