Social Emotional Learning STEM Activity

My Project

Both COVID-19 and the recent fire have greatly impacted my students emotionally. This school year, social-emotional learning has become a priority.

As the activities coordinator at the school, I am planning SEL holiday activities for the whole school.

It is pure organized chaos as students work together with their homeroom peers in team building activities. They will build snowmen out of cotton balls, create pipeline trees, design Santa's canoe that will float and hold "presents" (marbles), design and color a festive door poster, and more. Team work, problem solving, critical thinking area all happening at the same time. Students are able to learn while having fun at the same time.

The snacks ordered are to recognize and reward excellence. We want to positively encourage each of our students to keep moving forward in the face of adversity.
