Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My social emotional learning (SEL) committee members and I want to recognize one student from each class to receive the SEL Student of the Month award. Every teacher in the building works tirelessly to instill in their students the five core competencies that form the pillars of SEL. Students would be recognized for their progress in identifying and regulating their emotions, ability to show empathy, and positive decision making.
The awards would benefit the whole school as kindness is contagious.
The criteria for selection would go beyond academic achievers and give opportunities to students who are self-aware and socially aware to be celebrated.
