Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a predominantly Hispanic community. Most of my students live below the poverty line, and many live with extended family members in a small home. Many of my students share a small bedroom with two or three other children or adults. Life is not easy for my students, but they work hard and always try their best.

I love most about my students' drive, energy, and enthusiasm.

They are the reason I do what I do. I have a passion for teaching because of them.

My Project

Having the Little Spot of an Emotions box set of books and plushies will help me teach my students how to work through and handle challenging emotions.

The COVID pandemic has affected students so much that having a solid social, emotional learning program is crucial for making progress in other academic areas.

Several of my students have needed support in working with others and relearning positive ways to handle their emotions when socializing with others. This pandemic made students stay home to learn virtually for over a year, keeping them isolated from others.

This book set will come in handy and give students examples of dealing with our emotions.
