My Students

We are an innovation school this year. This means that our school has been given a chance to provide even more meaningful opportunities to the students within our boundaries. Students at my school receive free or reduced-price lunches.

I have a classroom of third-grade students with a range of ability levels.

Our school is also a Project Restore school. Each week, students take math tests and are also assessed on reading skills. Both are cumulative and rigorous, which means skills cannot be forgotten and are repeatedly practiced.

My Project

Social Emotional Learning is essential in classrooms today. Students need to learn to recognize their emotions and feelings, so they understand how to regulate their emotions and communicate how they are feeling. It is important to students to do these things so they can figure out how to build relationships with other students their age. Social emotional learning can provide a foundation for students to feel safe in their own skin. This can lead students to a successful career in and out of school and in life.

The Social Emotional photo library, books, and writing prompts can get students thinking about their own feelings and the appropriate responses to those feelings.

The conversation starters and the consequences game are opportunities for students to practice what they have learned about emotions and make good decisions.
