This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a group of energetic scholars. They are eager learners who are ready to take on the challenges of the 21st century. They are young people that simply need the resources to stimulate their creative minds.

With support from hard-working families, my students have to balance their rigorous academic work while navigating through the challenges of distance learning while living through a pandemic.

Regardless of the issues they face on a daily basis, they have goals, drive, and most importantly, they are hungry for knowledge. They possess great aspirations for change in their neighborhood, our country, and the world.

My Project

With the return to campus, I am bracing for all of the emotions and trauma that Covid-19 has left behind for our students. So many of them have faced loss, loneliness, and other emotions that are new to them.

By providing me the access to important work addressing social-emotional learning, I will be able to help create a safe space for students.

With these tools, I will be provided with the knowledge and tools needed to support students through these trying times.

In addition, I will be able to employ classroom activities and routines to create a safe space for students to return to.

I will employ the learned techniques and procedures to engage students and ensure that they are academically ready to continue their schooling path, but also that their social-emotional needs are addressed.
