This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a kindergarten teacher, I have noticed that my class is struggling in terms of social skills along with social-emotional learning. Through these books, I can bring the dragon to life with my students as I read the stories. The plushies will help my students relate to the emotions we are reading about and I hope to make these stories as relatable as possible.

My students will benefit from these lessons and I hope they will carry these skills as they continue to older grades.

I know building these foundational social skills will only benefit my class. These special books give different topics that I can touch on throughout the year and teach my students. We will touch on feelings, how to solve conflicts, tattletales, and how to make friends.
