Help me give my students the A Little Spot of Social Emotional Learning Favorites bundle to improve their mental health and other needed classroom supplies and storage items.
I am a third grade regular education teacher working in a low income school district. There are more and more students demonstrating difficulties managing their behavior and emotions. Students often face many difficulties trying to balance the stressors of school with difficult home lives. I want to provide my students with some tools to help them manage their emotional well-being.
The A Little Spot for Social Emotional Learning bundle can be used in many instances for those moments when students are having a hard time managing their behavior and emotions.
I plan to use it in whole group, small group, and individual settings. I would like my students to be able to recognize their emotions and utilize coping strategies that will help them throughout their lives as they face other difficult situations. I plan to use the makers and colored pencils in the calm down area to allow students to draw and / or color when they need time to reset their emotions. The noise canceling headphones will help to eliminate environmental stimuli so students can focus on calming down. I want to organize the classroom better to allow students to access supplies easier so that they may focus on their learning. I feel these items will benefit my students and classroom for many years to come.
