My Project

My students are kind and brilliant individuals with autism. Many of my students have sensory sensitivities, which make assemblies and field trips overstimulating. My first goal for this project is to provide my students with noise cancelling headphones and other strategies to make for a more inclusive environment. My second goal is to provide snacks and other classroom community resources, since some of my students' parents are unable to contribute due to financial hardships.

The items I am requesting will make a tremendous difference in my students' understanding of identifying feelings and appropriate strategies to use when they are not ready to learn.

Additionally, the items will provide classroom resources to meet my students' basic needs (snacks, tissue paper, etc.).
