My Project

Our social-emotional support guinea pigs are utilized in lessons centered around calming techniques, reading skills, and social skills! My students love reading and talking to Bailey and her sister! These items (storage bins, cage liners, and a shelf) will help us continue to care for Bailey and her sister, Fur Baby.

Studies have shown that animal therapy can benefit children in many ways including teaching self-control, calming techniques, and comforting them when they are sad or upset.

Class pets have also been shown to be beneficial in the areas of social skill building, educational lessons on the life cycle, and teaching responsibility to young students. Our staff also loves to visit with the girls when they are feeling stressed.
