Social Emotional Development With Engaging Games and Puzzles

Help me give my students games and puzzles for hands-on activities to develop their social and emotion regulation skills.

My Project

The COVID pandemic really hit our Brooklyn community hard. Many of my students missed out on some of their individualized services during long school closures or periods of illness. The impacts of isolation and learning loss have resulted in a growing need to provide additional social emotional support at school. All of my students participate in counseling services at school. They enjoy coming to their therapy sessions and are working hard towards their counseling goals.

With new age-appropriate games and puzzles, the opportunities that my students have to develop their social and emotion regulation skills will greatly expand.

The resources in this project have been specifically selected to target skill development in turn taking, self-advocacy, following a plan, and coping with disappointment. These are crucial foundational social skills that will support kids in developing and maintaining friendships and making positive choices. All of the games and puzzles in this project will afford us so many new and exciting ways to practice these skills and will support my students in progressing in their social and emotional development.
