Help me give my students a new source for regulating feelings and emotions. I teach pre-k special needs and teaching social emotional skills are an important part of our day.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A Little Spot of Feelings is a project to allow the students to interact with engaging lessons and hands-on activities to explore and apply social-emotional skills to improve their academics, behaviors, and mental health. The students will participate in a small group, one-on-one, or whole group lessons. It is difficult to talk about emotions or topics that have been traumatic. However, when a lesson is done with appealing materials and explained using simple language, the students will be willing to listen, participate, and take away the skills that they can use throughout their life.
Being able to identify feelings and emotions is a life skill my scholars will use forever.
In our special education classroom we focus on social emotional skills and life skills to help students become more independent and prepared for the real world. My scholars will love using these stories and little buddies to help them understand different emotions and feelings.
