Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

These materials will be used to create a calm classroom to teach students social emotional skill such as self regulation. The soft mat and floor rugs will provide comfortable seating for the students in a small group. The calendar and bulletin border will aid in creating a functional space that feels relaxing due to the color choice. Also included in the project is cubes that will teach the students what specific calm down strategies look like so that they can utilize these skills in moments of frustration. The supplies in this project will help the students be successful throughout the school year and into higher grade levels.
