This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As I wrap up my second year of teaching in Richmond, CA, I am looking forward to welcoming a room full of bright, hopeful, and promising fifth grade scholars in the fall. 100% of our students participate in free or reduced lunch, and 100% of our students come from low-income households.

In creating an environment that promotes critical thinking, creative outlets, and collaboration, I am setting a foundation for the cultivation of powerful leaders.

My focus for this year is to establish a comprehensive and rigorous choice of books for our classroom library. My hope is to open up the world of literacy to the children of our future.

My Project

As we transition back into the classroom, students are experiencing a wide range of emotions. During early stages of social emotional development, children are learning how to identify and cope with thoughts and feelings that they may have not experienced in the past.

The pandemic has kept kids at home for over a year now, creating unimaginable hurdles in their academic learning and social emotional development.

These supplies will be crucial tools in helping students navigate feelings of excitement, anxiety, and curiosity as they readjust to the classroom.

During this upcoming school year, my goal is to support students in their continuous personal growth. These tools will offer great in-class support!
