My Students
My little scholars are sweet as pie with a glimmer of curiosity in their eyes. They remind me of a diverse bunch of goodies in a candy store. Each one contributes uniqueness with hope and a mix of creativity. They love learning and discovering the world around them. They are funny and often unpredictable but always inquisitive and wanting to know more.
My students are all residents of DC and receive free lunch.
Although many experience challenges outside of the classroom, they typically attend school eager to engage with teachers and staff. Because of the current pandemic, they are experiencing uncertainty and concern. My students thrive when there is consistency, clear expectations, and when their needs are met.
My Project
We are still in a pandemic, but that won't stop my scholars from learning. My 30 first graders need an organized and safe way to keep and store their individual materials. To ensure that all students are able to access their own school supplies without spreading germs, my project is requesting a storage unit that houses 30 bins. Each student will have their own bin and their own assigned cubby.
Scholars need to feel safe and secure in their learning environment.
They’re learning about healthy eating, hygiene and following CDC guidelines for stopping the spread of Covid. Many of my scholars are concerned about Covid and they are doing the best they can to practice safety protocols. With your help, we can ease some of the worry by giving them their own space to house their school materials, hand sanitizers, and masks.
