Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help my students build social and emotional learning skills by increasing social skills awareness and self-awareness. Students at the end of elementary school and in to middle school are in the thick of social skills development and understanding.

Using picture books, literacy and relatable social skills topics will help to engage the students, and hopefully work as a motivator to help the student achieve their individual goals.

The series of SEL books written by former school counselor, Julia Cook, is a distinguished set of material that have been proven useful and successful with students in elementary and middle school.

Of course, being able to get the materials to the students is a necessary component, which is why I have included the rolling cart. It will give me the opportunity to move seamlessly between school sites. Finally, students are still kids and are motivated by prizes/treasure chest when they meet their goals! Let's help them build that confidence!
