Soccer Goals

My students need soccer goals to learn and practice playing soccer as one of our school sports. This is our first year adding soccer as a sport.

My Students

As a small charter school, our students have the opportunity to participate in sports without there being try outs. They pay a small fee to cover refs and some sporting goods. This year, the students wanted to add soccer. We have added it, but with little equipment. We are still in need of goal.

We are a small elementary charter school with about 175 students.

Our students are bright, lovable, motivated, and active in school functions. Every year, we have a Fall Festival and an International Festival that students and parents look forward to attending. The same goes for sports. Sport are offered throughout the school year. We play other charter schools and have done well. This year we added soccer for grades k-6, with 4-6 graders being the only ones who compete for trophies. The students are very excited about being able to play soccer. We have held car washes to fund some of our sports equipment. Our students and parents cherish the events that we offer as after school activities.

My Project

Soccer seems to be the big talked about sport right now and students have been asking since the beginning of the school year to have soccer added as a sport. In order to be part of the team, students must do well academically and turn in all homework that is required. Soccer will show the students how to work as a team and that they need to rely on others for help and support. My goal is to create unity across the grade levels and that sports is about having fun not just winning.

Since this is a new sport for us this year, we do not have all the equipment needed for practices or games.

We have the balls and two field goals with nets but no regulation soccer goals. They are out of our budget range. My students need soccer goals. By helping with the purchase of goals, we will be able to have better practices and the students will learn how to use the goals correctly before attending a game with another schools.
