We are a small k-6 elementary charter school with about 175 students. Our students are bright, lovable, motivated, and active in school functions. Two years ago our team leaders decided to add Technology as a specials class along with Art, Music, and P.E. Several students have commented on this being their favorite special to attend and parents are elated that their children are learning how to type and access information on a computer. However, the computer lab is still functioning on quite a few old IBM processors and dated CRTs. I am looking to first replace the CRTs with more energy efficient monitors then start replacing the towers. The students do cherish what they have now and are learning how to use 21 century technology despite using what we call “dinosaurs”.
