This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Most of my students love soccer, but we only have ten soccer balls for sixty students, and the balls are always going flat. Please help us give them soccer balls to play with.

My students go to a high school in Texas.

They are mostly Hispanic, low income, around half are on free and reduced lunch. My goal is to get enough soccer balls that they can all learn to play the sport they love by actually playing it. If we get this equipment, they can!

My Project

All that I am asking for is 20 outdoor balls and 5 indoor balls with an inflator so that my students can play soccer. With sixty students that are learning the game, it is important to play small sided games, and have plenty of time to do individual drills, where they can learn individual skills. These balls will allow them to do just that.

This project is so important because these kids are at risk.

Many of my students are drop out risks, and projects like this can be the difference between trying to stay and finish school and dropping out.
