This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a fifth-grade teacher in a large pre-K-8 school. Most if not all of my students come from lower income families. Many of these children face poverty, violence and obscenities of life on a daily basis, that are well beyond what most of us could imagine.
My students need to stay healthy this year with materials to keep themselves active and relaxed!
We need basketballs, soccer balls and a pump to inflate them!
Having these things will keep my students minds and bodies moving and active throughout the year. We will be able to keep our students healthy and happy through play and relaxation.
We don't have a lot of recess equipment, but we do have a lot of energy. My students love to play, and begged, borrowed equipment is usually pretty beat up. My students need balls, i.e. soccer balls and basketballs for outdoor recess. Wouldn't it be nice to give these children just a little bit more.
Recreational equipment would benefit my students by giving them appropriate ways to express their energy, make choices, and try new things.
Recess equipment would give my students the chance to be more active while we are outside and give them a variety of materials to stimulate more learning inside and out.
