Soaring to Success with School Supplies and Organizational Needs

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
At my school, "Every Student Counts and Every Day Brings a New Success!"
Our students come to school each and every day ready to take on the world and to learn, challenging themselves to be better than they were the day before!
As an educator in my 3rd year of service, it is such a blessing to be able to work alongside the best student scholars and educators in the country! Our school, my home for the last two years, is committed to providing its students with all of the resources that are needed to engage students in rigorous, dynamic and inspirational instructional activities. There may be times when we do not have what we need, but we have taken on the "We can't yet..." not a "We can't..." attitude. Maybe we currently cannot provide our students with all of the most innovative technology available, maybe we currently do not have a 1,000+ book classroom library of high-interest books in every classroom, but soon we will! All of the resources we want to provide to our students are available to us through the magic of DonorsChoose.org thanks to donors like YOU!
My Project
For the majority of my students in 4-year-old Kindergarten, this is their first school experience. My students are in need of beginner pencils to help them learn how to use their fine motor skills in their hands/fingers in order to learn how to write and draw. We will continue to build our fine motor skills through art and exploration by using scissors to learn how to cut paper, crayola markers for coloring, crayons (or more specifically an Elmer’s Electric Sharpener to get the most out of our classroom crayons and learn to color in the lines), and glue to use in our cut and paste activities and to create oobleck/slime for sensory/tactile exploration.
Students shouldn't have to worry about having the basic school supplies to do their work.
Their only job is to come to school and learn.
In the same respect, if I can keep my room nice, neat, and free of clutter, it will contribute to a positive learning environment. My paraprofessional and I strive to be more organized in the coming school year. We are looking for two six-tiered letter trays to use for daily literacy and math group organization. A catalog rack will be a great place to store data binders, lesson plan binders, etc. in one easy to find location. We will use the labels on student work to organize by title, essential question, or standard, which will not only help us, but will help parents refer back to books or other resources. We will be able to organize our students themselves for lunch and dismissal with ID Badge holders and clips that will identify them by name and numbers.
With these products, and your help, we hope to have an amazing (and efficient) year full of love and learning!
