This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a third-year educator, I teach third grade at a wonderful school located in Detroit. Our students come from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and family structures.
We have beautiful students who are always motivated to learn!
As an educator, I strive to provide them with the best opportunities for aiding their education. It is essential that teachers can provide their students with materials that allow them to learn in ways that meet their various unique needs. Children need a chance to experiment as they learn, and I aim to provide that.
My Project
My students have expressed a lot of interest and curiosity in the outside world the more we incorporate STEM into our classroom!
STEM is such a wonderful and exciting part of our learning and we can't wait to add more!
This drone will give all of our students the opportunity to tie STEM with math and science.
The students will be taught how to fly the drone themselves, and how to use the integrated camera. They will learn about miles per hour in watching the drone speed up and slow down. We will focus on the scientific process of what items the drone will see when it is out on its voyage. What do you think it will encounter? An animal, a plant, a person... limitless possibilities of potential for the students to expand their language and conversation skills with their friends. The drone will bring us so many learning opportunities!
