Resource Students Soar with Reading!
I teach 4-6 grade special education students. I have about 7-8 students in my room at one time for reading. My school is a low to moderate poverty level.
All too often left behind! My students have difficulties with reading and writing abilities. They struggle with comprehension and basic vocabulary skills. All too often they are left behind when it comes to resources and an environment that best fits their needs. They have shown interest in having thesauruses in the classroom to help with their reading and writing skills.
Having these resources will benefit my students in that they can expand on their vocabulary and comprehension skills with a variety of activities. They will use the thesauruses to learn synonyms and antonyms, which will greatly help them with the standardized tests. All year they are taught at the level they can succeed at. When it comes to state testing, they are required to test at the grade level they are in. With these resources, it will help boost our comprehension and vocabulary skills to decrease their gap in reading.
Please contribute to our resource classroom. With your donation, my students will have better opportunities to learn and expand their comprehension to benefit them later in life!
