This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every day I get to work with 20 amazing and caring students. Our class believes in working together as a team and supporting each other both in and out of the classroom. With more than half of them coming from low income families, it always amazes me at how often they are willing to put each other first. Their generosity and compassion have no limits.

My students have such a dedicated wonder about the world around them.

They are always eager to learn about new people and cultures, especially since we have a few ESL students that come from all over.

My Project

As a teacher of a Title I school, it has always been difficult building a classroom library that engages and captivates my young readers. Currently, our library consists of a mixture of books that have been inherited, donated, and discarded. My students have such a wide range of interests and such a strong eagerness to satisfy their curiosity. Finding books that are relevant and meaningful can also be challenging.

This collection of books would bring life into our classroom library by providing readers with multiple opportunities to grow as learners while enhancing their academic progression and their love of books.
