My Students
Take a moment to think about your kindergarten experience. Did you just get a feeling of nostalgia, too? Kindergarten was an amazing and fun time that taught you the foundations of reading, writing, and math. My students are getting that same experience, but they are in need of materials that will help organize their library!
The children I teach are energetic, wonderful, hardworking students.
They impress me everyday with their awesome attitudes, and desire to learn. We are a full day kindergarten class at a Title I school. Most of our students qualify for the free breakfast and lunch program. The student population is 33% Caucasian, 26% Hispanic, 12% Asian, 11% African American, 28% other.
My Project
This book bin storage shelf will make a huge difference in our classroom because it will organize our books so each child can find the appropriate level they are looking for.
It is tough to watch my little angels sift through a shelf full of books and not be able to find their level.
I want them to feel independent, and be able to walk over to the organized book shelf and know exactly what letter bin to choose from. Making it easy to find specific books that are appropriate for each child will encourage my students to focus more on the enjoyment of reading.
