My Students
Our students are leaders. We are a Title I school located in the Piedmont Triad area and we have a very diversified student population. Many of our students come from different ethnicities, speak a different language other than English as their first language. Our students strive to excel at any and everything they do. Our school is a Leader in Me school and we are teaching the Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens. I am honored to work with them.
My Project
By having these basic hygiene items our students will feel better about themselves. Many of them are bullied and have low self-esteem. Our goal is to provide them with needed items that many people take for granted. By doing this we hope to increase their self-esteem and acceptance among their peers. In the classrooms for guidance lessons, we talk with the students about the importance of having good hygiene and feeling good about yourself. They share that many of them do not have essential items but are embarrassed to ask. The counseling department wants to help all students if possible.
