Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students have a zest for learning, and we are often together through sickness and health—sniffles, sneezes, coughs, and drips! My first air filter made a difference, but I realize my room is huge and could use some backup with the air filtration. My students would gather on one side of the room, making comments like it seems fresher on one side. It's hard to focus it "smells like, sanitation, garbage!" so I am hoping to get a second air filter to cover the entire room.
"Keeping it clean, keep it real, keep it honest, keep it true," YN Lucci says, which applies to the classroom.
Air filters also help eliminate odor, which all teachers can tell you about in middle school. A healthy environment with a humidifier, air purifiers, and other resources which helps students focus and keep working without distraction. My students are accelerated and very hard working, so why not give them the best of the best?
