This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of the students I service currently reside in shelters and are refugees. Something such as having a clean menstruating pad, deodorant, toothbrush, and a snack goes a long way.

Having these essential items available to students makes a difference.

I aim to have necessary items available to those students in my classroom who need them, no questions asked.

My students are so resilient. They come to school with very little sleep and often times hungry, yet they rarely complain. They are thankful to be in school and feel safe.
