My Project

The pandemic has caused staffing shortages in many fields and schools are not immune to this issue. My school has struggled to keep custodial staffing numbers where they need to be so everyone is just doing the best they can. We typically only have 1 custodian for our entire middle school, and they really just have time to empty trash cans and clean the bathrooms which leaves our floors un-swept or mopped.

The dust accumulation is not only unsightly, but it creates for an unhealthy learning environment, and I want better for my students.

Having this electric mop and cleaning supplies would save me time and energy when helping maintain my classroom floors. Students tend to have more respect and ownership of classrooms that are well maintained, so I think this would boost student pride in their school as well.
