Help me give my students fresh clothing to change into as needed at school, after gym or throughout the day. This includes body wash, gloves, hair brushes, and other items.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I'm blessed to work at a special education center school for students in grades K-12. Our amazing program is located in Michigan. We serve students with a wide variety of psychiatric, cognitive, and behavioral needs. We serve students from our entire city.
Our school has thirty-seven beautiful young people with varying strengths and weaknesses.
Their backgrounds are as diverse as their abilities.
We are all unique, but we are definitely a family here.
My Project
Our special needs school runs a very successful personal hygiene program. This program enables us to allow all students who arrive, the opportunity to freshen up however needed in our hygiene closet in the morning, after gym, and throughout the day. This program improves behavior, self-esteem, attendance, and relationships.
As you can imagine, this program requires supplies ranging from clothing, to toiletries, and much more!
It is a task keeping our Hygiene pantry and clothing closet stocked and we depend on the generosity of amazing donors like yourself to assist our students in looking and feeling their best. At this time we are requesting shower gel, toothpaste, haircare, body spray, shampoo, soap, spare gloves, and more. At a minimum, every child deserves to be clean and have clean clothing that fits each day. Please consider donating to a terrific program that is truly making a difference each day, Thank you.
