More than half of my students are from low-income families and most of our supplies are donated or bought by the teachers. Some of the things that they are not exposed to at home, we give them the opportunity to experience here at school.
My students are the best!
They are busybodies who love learning new skills and goals. They come in each morning with the biggest smiles on their faces, and these smiles last throughout the day because they are excited at what they have learned. They are excited to learn!
My Project
Students love to learn. Students also learn through play. Some of the best conversations happen during engaged playtime. In our dramatic play center, I want the focus to be on what students want to be when they grow up. By having the different dress up hats that will go along with our occupation vests, students can explore and engage in different types of jobs.
Students can be whatever they want to be.
When asked what students want to be in our classroom most will answer a doctor, dentist, or a "animal" doctor. By having a doctor kit, a vet kit, and a dentist kit along with different types of x-rays students can explore the different tools that each job uses.
These type of materials will be used throughout the year especially during our community helper and occupation week.
