My Project
As a Librarian in a low-income, high poverty school, with free breakfast and lunch, I see that my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. In the library, I strive to create a positive learning environment in which they can enjoy books. My goal as a librarian in a PreK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade elementary school is for students to begin to have a love of reading.
The students at our school are sweet, eager to read, and check out newer books!
They deserve the best variety of books our library has to offer. I can't wait to watch them become fluent readers.
Joyful Read Alouds! Our library has many books the students enjoy reading and listening too. I see around 700 students each week! Teachers and students are able to check books out for their enjoyment. I am asking for donations to fully fund this project to give our library newer books for students and teachers to enjoy! I want to provide them with more books, because it is my hope that they will continue their love of reading!
If a child has access to books they enjoy reading, they will grow into lifelong readers! My hope is these students love books as much as I do! We learn so much through joyful read alouds!
