My Students
My students have a thirst for knowledge and love to be engrossed in a good book. They are critical consumers of information and they take their time to read.
My students love to learn about the world and people in it. Reading is a way they can be taken to new places, build empathy, and learn new things. They have high expectations for themselves, their work, and others. I know they will take all that they learn to make this world a better place!
My Project
What is the best way to become a better reader? Read. What is the best way to become a better writer? Read. By giving my students comfortable chairs to sit in and great books to read, my classroom can better foster reading achievement and stamina.
To enjoy and engage in the reading process, you need great books and a comfortable setting. I want to use these materials to build better readers by giving them lots of great books to read and some new options for seating during independent reading. I know by providing these materials that we will better support reading engagement and we will build greater reading stamina. They will also have annotation tools to become better close readers.
