A classroom rug is an important learning space in the classroom. The classroom rug is really the center of the classroom. Some of our most important lessons are taught while sitting on the classroom rug.
When students come together as a class on the classroom rug, many skills are being developed and skills to connect as a classroom family are built.
We do our morning meeting each day on the classroom rug and it provides an intimate space for students to sit and feel included with their peers. Our current classroom rug isn't big enough for all students so some of them have to sit on the cold tile floor or stay in their seats. I would like to have this large rug so that all students will have room to sit and feel included.
