My Students

I have an AMAZING group of students across grade levels. They are with me from kindergarten through 6th grade, and during that time our classroom becomes a small community and family. The relationships and bonds that are built here in our special education classroom are like no other. Each and every student learns to contribute to our community and become a leader as their strengths shine through. I often refer to our group of students as "Rock stars" and "Super heroes" because they are truly nothing less than that, each and every day.

Not only do my students take day to day challenges head on, but they meet the challenge with grace, laughter and absolutely irreplaceable smiles.

Each student's personality is truly amazing and inspiring. Many of my students are constantly challenged just by completing the simplest of tasks that you and I may take for granted, such as picking an item up independently, walking across the classroom, remaining seated independently, and so much more, so each school year we work vigilantly to find new ways to make our classroom fun, exciting and exceptionally engaging which keeps all of our students progressing academically, socially and personally.

My Project

In our classroom, we work rigorously to promote opportunities for independence as well as awareness and respect of personal space. With the help of visual boundaries on this fun and exciting classroom rug, students will be able to see their personal boundaries without the cues from adults.

This large and vibrant rug provides enough designated spaces for our whole group activities as well as a new and fun way for us to incorporate conversations about animals and the alphabet!

All of my students will enjoy having a fun place to sit together that will also brighten up our classroom environment.
