Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As Winter is here, my students are beginning to talk about snow. Many of our stem lessons, books and centers are filled with stories of snowmen, snowflakes and wintry wonders. I want to create a snow theme for my students.

Many of my students have not been able to experience the beauty of snow in all of its glorious wonder.

Throughout the month of January and February my students will study about the stages of water and how snow is made. We will experiment with making snow in a variety of ways including instant snow in the sensory table. Students will learn about the various seasons and appropriate attire for each season. They will explore measurement and properties of matter. We will create shapes using various molds to build igloos and other "snow" creations. Students will learn about the various seasons and appropriate attire for each season. Our culminating activities will include an indoor snow day with fun and games for all of my students. Your generosity could help to make this teacher's dreams of a Winter Wonderland come true by helping my students experience what winter would be like.

During February we are doing a dramatic play area where we will be writing letters and "mailing" them. The kids will love having some themed accessories and book to make that complete!
