My Project
There is nothing better than when a teacher sees a child read a book because they CHOSE to read a book over another activity. My special education students are creative, smart, and eager to learn. This project will supply each child with a book, a bookmark, a book light, and a stuffed animal reading buddy. The reading buddy gives children a sense of comfort as some of these students struggle with reading. The bookmarks allow students to customize their own thus giving them some ownership to their materials. Students will often name their stuffed animal and offer to read to their family members with their reading light- under the covers at night. This is a popular project that I would like to continue each year.
