Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Motivated and determined, living in a richly diverse urban, working-class community, my students thrive to engineer with a purpose. Struggling to overcome extreme economic hardship, we walk the walk and strive to make our mark through hard work and dedication, athleticism and team building.
We use art as technology to explore our creativity, while challenging ourselves to learn new skills and develop new techniques as designers, while promoting solutions.
Graphic artists, 2D and 3D designers, muralists, publishers and filmmakers in a multimedia lab desperately need technology and resources to create, to publish and to store their files in the school's Digital Arts Lab, keeping up with the technological advancements in software and hardware.
Seventh and eighth graders can choose Digital Arts as their elective where they learn to think critically and apply culturally relevant topics to their artwork. Digital artists design and publish artwork as graphic designers, videographers, muralists, desktop publishers, book-makers, web designers and visual artists.
My Project
Our Yearbook Elective class needs new cameras for students to photograph activities, sporting events, clubs, and classrooms. We also need SD cards to put into the cameras so that each student has enough storage space. We have two iPads that are at risk of damage, so we need protective cases in case of an accident. We also need a protective case for our classroom laptop.
Of course we hope that students won't drop our hardware, and accidents can happen, so better safe than sorry!
Students are trained to carry their equipment with care. Unfortunately, if they are bumped or the equipments slips out of their hands, we want to ensure that the tech isn't damaged in any way.
