This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school is an urban elementary school in Roanoke, Virginia. As is common with urban districts, our families often struggle to find employment and opportunity, and our students are frequently in need of supplies and support in the classroom.
My students are primarily ELL (English language learners) and students with various learning disabilities.
My Project
Science standards are changing in my state for fifth graders, and with this change we need updated resources to teach the new topics. My district has provided snap circuit basic kits, but our students would adore a chance to have fun with circuitry and coding!
Electricity is moving to fifth grade, help us snap into our new standards with Snap Circuit exploration kits!
These kits will not only address our new electricity standards, but will allow students to explore force, motion, sound, energy, light, and even begin coding/building robotics. Almost all of our physical sciences can be integrated into these snap circuit kits, and this gives students a way to experience these concepts in a safe, hands-on way.
