This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Remember learning about how your light switch worked and feeling that excitement? That's what will be doing in my classroom!
My students are curious about how things work.
They love to be able to tinker. They love the opportunity to be able to see what first experiment and then learn why things work. Unfortunately, many of my students do not always get the opportunity to tinker and explore due to home situations.
My Project
Using the Snap Circuits 300 Experiment Set, my students will be first given the opportunity to use the snap circuits to see if they can complete a circuit. Once they have tried, they will learn about what circuits are, how they work, and the different types. After they are done, students will have the opportunity to retry making circuits work and explain why it works.
This will improve my class in so many ways.
My students will get to see how people like electricians and others deal with wiring. My students will get the opportunity to tinker, think, learn, and explain how items work in their everyday lives. Hopefully, this will get some interested in other jobs that are important to our society.
