Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are in second grade and are curious and playful. They’re always ready to explore something new and love hands-on materials in the classroom. All this exploring and engagement makes us pretty hungry and our school doesn't always provide us with an afternoon snack. Having snacks available in our room helps us keep our hunger away. I’m requesting crackers, nilla wafers, and other snacks such as fruit cups to keep them full so they can focus on learning. Also the fruit is another option for our kiddos that are gluten free.
Afternoon or mid morning snacks can really make all the difference for a hungry kiddo who's a few hours from lunch or dismissal.
Having these snacks available in our classroom is such a blessing, especially to our students that don't get a lot of food to eat at home. Snacks are essential for our students to be successful and help them stay on task throughout the day. It's one of the few things I can do for my students to help them be happy and fulfilled and ready to give school their very best. that day!!
