Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My middle schoolers are always hungry. These academic warriors work hard during the school day and are involved in after-school activities. As they push their critical thinking and skill development, they need fuel to keep them going.
Working in a Title I school means that food insecurity is common for many of our students.
Having a cabinet full of snacks will help these amazing kids feel safe, cared for, and healthy. It is amazing the comfort and joy that a granola bar or fruit snack can bring to a child's day!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
