This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The snacks I’m requesting—fruit snacks, popcorn, breakfast bars, pretzels, and crackers—will help ensure my students have the energy and focus they need to stay engaged throughout the day. Many of my students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and hunger can be a barrier to their learning. By providing nutritious snacks, I can help them stay alert, regulate their emotions, and concentrate on their academic tasks without being distracted by hunger.
My goal is to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students have access to the nourishment they need to thrive.
By providing these snacks, I aim to reduce hunger-related distractions, improve focus, and support my students' ability to engage in lessons. Additionally, having snacks available can help students build independence, reinforce positive behaviors, and create a sense of security in the classroom.
My students are resilient, hardworking, and full of potential. As young learners with diverse needs—including those with ADD, ADHD, Autism, and speech and language delays—they bring unique strengths and perspectives to the classroom. They are eager to learn, but many face challenges that extend beyond academics. Despite these obstacles, they show up every day ready to try their best. Providing them with snacks is a small but meaningful way to support their well-being and set them up for success.
