Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Third graders are amazing! We have made so many strides already this year. When I reflect back on where they were versus where they are now, it is amazing. We do all of our major learning in the morning, before lunch. When they get back from lunch and recess, there is only about a hour left of the school day.This means my 8 and 9 year olds go a long time between breakfast and lunch, having the last lunch of the day.

A snack goes a long way to help keep up their stamina to focus on their learning, not their hungry tummies!

I have been providing snacks, along with some family and friends and some parents, but as we go through the school year, those donations are not coming in as plentiful as they once were. Supporting this project means you are helping give snacks to a class of third graders who are working hard to close their achievement gap; the loss from COVID disruption to their learning.
