Help me give my students snacks to supplement free school breakfast and lunch.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Niles's classroom raised $209
This project is fully funded
My Project
All the students in my class are entitled to free school breakfast and lunch. While the students are very grateful to know that these meals will be provided, the current system can also produce a sense of inequity in our classroom. Some students are able to bring in snacks from home, and others are not. This creates a visible imbalance, especially on days when portions are small and the students are still hungry after eating the provided meal.
Because school meals have a set portion size, and the same portion is served to students from kindergarten through 5th grade, many of the older students request second helpings after eating.
Due to cafeteria accountability, seconds are not available.
Please help to reduce inequity for my students to make sure all upper elementary students are able to supplement their school lunch with additional snacks, like chips and cookies.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
